Dark- Field Monotypes with August Carpenter
Explore the subtractive techniques of dark-field monoprinting. In this process the plate is covered with a layer of ink or paint, and the image is formed by manipulating and removing the ink or paint using a variety of tools, including brushes, rags, or the artist’s fingers. In this workshop August Carpenter will go through the basics of the process as well share her unique tips and tricks for creating luscious black works with a variety of textures and drawing styles.

August Carpenter uses a drawing and print based practice as a platform to examine interactions between person and place. She is the current recipient of the Tate Adams Memorial Fellowship Residency at State Library Victoria & Baldessin Press. August is represented by Australian Galleries

- Apron
- Sketchbook
- Some reference images - these could be drawings, photographs, pages from a sketchbook, from a Magazine. Anything you fancy! As we will be exploring the world of dark-field monotyping these will be helpful reference images.
