- Gallery Hire: $420 per week for Members and $520 for Non-Members:
- Gallery Cabinet and Studio wall space can be rented at an extra cost
- A non-refundable deposit of one weeks hire is to be paid to secure your exhibition with the balance due one month before exhibition
- 25% Commission on all sales

How to Apply
To be considered for exhibition at FPS we require a simple exhibition proposal be submitted via email to [email protected]. Proposals should included the following:
- A selection of images of work; either the work that you are proposing to display or similar, these images should give us an idea of what will be on show for your exhibition (Work in progress images accepted). These images should be provided in Jpeg format no larger that 2-3mb each
- An Artist Statement or Brief description of your practice or proposed exhibition. You may also wish to include an Artist Bio.
- A few preferences of the desired time to exhibit. (Please note that while we will do our best to accommodate your preferences we cannot guarantee you will be offered your preferred dates)
- Please also provide an indication if you are interested in being curated into a group (2 or 3 people max) show or strictly SOLO only.
Terms & Conditions
- Due to the small number of shows available each year artists can only reapply to show at FPS 3 years after their previous solo or group show (exclusive of any prize shows)
- As FPS schedule a number of annual members shows, collaborations and Prize shows, applications will be confirmed around August 2025.
- Openings are held on Thursday night during the first week of the exhibition from 6-8pm (exc. Public holidays). Alternative opening times can be discussed with the gallery but we do not hold opeing on weekends.
- Artists are required to sign a contract once proposals have been accepted and an exhibition officially offered. This contract will outline the responsibilities of the gallery and artist.
Gallery Hire - FAQs
Can anyone exhibit? Yes, you do not have to be a member to exhibit. Bookings are subject to curatorial approval and the timetable.
What kind of works can I exhibit? As the gallery is adjacent to a print workshop, preference is given to prints, works on paper and artist's books. However paintings, photography, sculptures and installations have been successfully exhibited. See the floor plan below for an indication of hanging space. The Firestation reserves the right to determine the suitability of all work for exhibition, so your proposal must include examples of your work.
Is there a hanging system? Yes, for both framed and unframed works on paper. We have installed a multiple metal strip/magnet system that allows easy hanging of unframed works with magnets. There are also display cases for Artist books etc available.
How many works can I exhibit? Check the floor plan below for dimensions. Allow reasonable space between works. If you have additional works, the Print Workshop and the Community Arts room may also be available to hang in, at an extra charge.
What does it cost? Main Gallery hire is $520 per week, ($420 per week for members) with a minimum hire period of 3 weeks. The workshop wall space is at times available for separate hire / or additional hire for an additional cost. Contact us for details There is a twenty per cent commission on sales. See the contract for further details. You are required to sit the show on Saturdays where possible. A deposit of one week's hire is required to secure your booking with the balance due one month before the exhibition date. This deposit is non-refundable. You are also responsible for catering for the exhibition opening if you choose to have one.
What if I need help with my show? You can ask one of our approved curators to help you. They charge a fee that you negotiate with them. You can also hire the services of a PR writer if you choose.
