June 18th and 19th, 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday
Image making, combining print, drawing and collage - The 2-day workshop will explore ways to utilise and combine intaglio, relief and monoprint/type processes, colour and layering along with drawing and collage elements.

materials supplied
At least 1 sheet of 56 x 76cm sheet of good quality printing paper, 250gsm Arche, BFK or similar for each student
Intaglio and relief ink, black, white and colours
Transparency for mixing with relief inks
Range of different sized rollers
Plastic drypoint plates @ 38 x 25cm or thereabouts for each student.
Sharp scribes for incising the drypoint plates
Collage materials. Second hand books, and old prints that can be torn or cut into pieces. Would be best if students bring their own old prints to recycle

Large plastic/acrylic sheets to roll relief ink out on that can be put through the press

The workshop will focus on drypoint intaglio on acetate plates, that can be cut into shapes, and stenciling with relief rolled colour using shaped substrates, found and made. Students can work over existing imagery on cotton paper and/or create new work considering varying scale, overlays and negative and positive space. Experimentation and play is encouraged.
