Solar Plate Etching Workshop

IMPORTANT Pre-requisite:
Completed a 2-day workshop with Trudy
In this hands-on small class sized refresher, Trudy will continue to perfect your skills with
the magical printmaking process of solar plate etching.
Participants, please bring along:
Your previous work and solar plates
Your drawings, photographs and inspiration for new work Your questions!
We will be working with 2 x A5 (105mm x 148mm) solar plates
Remember it is IMPORTANT to make your images slightly larger than these plate sizes.
I will also have A6 and A4 solar plates available for sale on the day.
You will also need a ruler, Stanley knife for cutting Cutting Matt, pen & notebook, Apron, Closed toed shoes, Plastic scraper for spreading ink Spatula

- 2 small containers for water and ink
- Brushes for ink work
- Nib pen for ink work
- Black pens (opaque) – pitt pens ideal
- HB Pencils in various shades
- Rubber gloves for inking up (tight garden gloves are ideal and re-usable)
