Neil Wallace will be demonstrating the two styles of image development using both water based and solvent based plate developers.
Neil and FPS will supply medium sized aluminium litho plate, with a recommended litho drawing pencil, to participants prior the workshop and artists will have time to carefully prepare and draw up their litho on their pre prepared litho plate and have them returned back to Firestation to be processed.
Day 1. Demonstrating and processing of plates, rolling up places, and possibly multiplate colour techniques.
Day 2. photo processes via simple photocopy press transfers onto the aluminium plates which can be collaged. Also offer interesting opportunities with a second plate for adding colour as solids or a drawn /painted sections via use of USA made Sharpie pens.
Participants will be printing with special waterless litho inks that Neil will provide for the class together with small diameter brayers for rolling up. Participants will be printing final prints onto a lightly dampened 250 gsm hot presses rag paper.
