ALTERED STATES A printmaking exchange between The Firestation Print Studio & Migaloo Press QLD This project will be exhibited at FPS Gallery. All artists are currently creating works for this collaboration. 16 printmakers from the Firestation Print Studio, VIC, and 16 printmakers from Migaloo Press, QLD, are creating a print that is indicative of their practice, with two prints in the edition. Edition 1 by all 32 printmakers stays in its initial state, image unchanged, while edition 2, is sent to a corresponding interstate printmaker for their artists to 'alter' the artwork. Both the initial prints and the collaborative edition 2 works, will be exhibited next year at Logan Art Gallery QLD and FPS Gallery, Melbourne, and we will observe how these works of art have evolved through this collaborative process. Pictured - Print by Migaloo printmaker, Rachael Lee (Left) and print by FPS printmaker, Ruth Thompson (Right). Print by FPS printmaker, Sue Martin (right) and print by Migaloo printmaker, Kay Watanabe (left). Both Artworks to be altered by this paired artist. |
